This is arguably one of my favorite tasting menus EVER. The concept is a dinner party with dishes using the freshest ingredients possible. The pluot - bourbon punch as a first cocktail put that back on my radar as a drink I would order. The acidity from the fruit paired with a woodsy alcohol was delicious.
And then there was the cultured butter.
It's f***n delicious. Myself and another couple next to me ordered more with zero shame. Paired with their take on a grain Parker house roll was perfect. The roll had depth of flavor with a pillowy lightness to make it a perfect vehicle for the butter.
Lazy Bear manages to make peaches taste even more peachy in ice cream, or tomatoes have their umami amplified in hand peeled cherry tomatoes. I could go on and on about everything we had but the gist is the flavor and preparation are impressive without being pretentious. I strongly look forward to being able to come here across the seasons to experience how the menu evolves. -

As I was searching for a great place to take my husband for his birthday lazy bear was one of the final restaurants I was interested in booking. The fact that a lot of my co-workers raved about... sealed the deal!
They release reservations once a month. They send ticket sale info via email and post on their twitter account.
The place has two beautiful long shared tables and a gorgeous huge kitchen where you can watch your food being prepared.
Upon arriving they take you upstairs and offer you a refreshment. Your first few "snacks" are given to you upstairs.
We had amazing items such as whipped scrambled eggs... ahhhmaze! Bacon egg and maple syrup with a hint of spice all served in a egg shell.
A delicious creamy oyster and a few other items.
Since I opted out of the wine pairing, I asked for a creamy drink and got served a coco nutty creamy drink without the cream which was shocking. Delicious!
Down stairs we were served our meals which had a variation of items such as sungolds in a duo purée,prawn and grits, shelling beans, rack of lamb and soooo much more.
Every dinner brought out the chef would explain exactly what the dish was and where all the items were from. Most veggies were actually picked by the chefs before they come to work.
To follow the dinner was multiple sweets such as grilled figs, a beautiful peach dessert with a spicy gummy to accompany it and about 3 other items. Please just roll me out at this point.
The place is so special. So much thought and time is put Into every item served. Great place for foodies. I know it's expensive, but you are not only paying for delicious food, but a beautiful experience and 2 Michelin stars!!! -

We did the 8:30pm tasting for two. The overall experience lasts there hours so expect to leave around 11:30pm. Logistics:
- we arrived early around 8am since we were in the area. we were the second group to arrive and the host/servers direct you upstairs in the mezzanine area to sit. getting there early was nice since we got to sit whereas those who arrive towards the end stand around high tops.
- we received a welcome drink (a very tasty punch that was probably very sweet but very well-made that some of the elements such as bergamot counteracted the sweetness and didn't taste overly sweet!)
- first five tastings are snacks (small bites) and served upstairs. FYI - I wondered during the second or third snack whether I'd be full at the end. My regret is that I was far too full to finish some of my last courses. My recommendation is if you get full too quickly, don't overdo it on some of the more filling items. If you're a champ, EAT EVERYTHING.
- last ~10 tastings are served downstairs. I don't think we moved downstairs until 9:30 or so. This is after the early seating has left
Tasting item highlights:
- the first tasting was a whipped scrambled egg. This was one of our favorites. Someone we had met said this is her second tasting experience and that her last experience also involved an egg and that was her favorite
- I also really enjoyed another snack that was tuna on an onion cracker. Fresh and tasty
- All the other items, whether or not I absolutely loved the taste, were definitely an experience and cool in its own regard. For example, this melon dish had so many flavors that every bite tasted differently. My sister said it was like willy wonka and the chocolate factory
- Two larger protein focused items towards the end were salmon and lamb chop. Both were great but the lamb chop was definitely a larger portion than I'd expected. I regret I didn't finish this since I was insanely full
- We finished with two tasting items that both had fruit and resembled desserts. After this, there were "treats" which were four bite sized dessert items
- Throughout the ~10 tastings we had downstairs in the communal table, each chef would talk about the tasting and what made it special (e.g., the farm, the uniqueness in preparation, etc.)
- Service was obviously amazing and everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly
Thanks Lazy Bear for making my sister and my birthday special with a happy birthday note to us with a bear tooting a festive party horn :) -

I've heard great things about this place and finally decided to go for the first time. Overall the food was interesting and creative but for the entree we had said in the reservation that someone from the party didn't eat lamb and they mentioned it when we checked in. However, when the entree came on there was no meat substitute, everyone had a lamb chop with a side of tomato pie but the tomato pie that was supposed to be everyone's side dish was my main dish with nothing else on the plate. As a menu that allows for substitutions and with reasonable time to prepare for a 2 star Michelin restaurant this is quite a big disappointment. The whole pace of the meal was also extremely rushed since you had to keep up with everyone else on all the tables and they had a second seating after. Not really worth it if you're looking for a 2 star experience.

There are two different seatings that you have to prepay for and the tickets are non-refundable. I think i enjoyed the later seating because there was hustle and bustle going on from the previous seating and it was nice to see things going on as we proceeded to our dinner.
At the beginning, you're either standing or sitting in the upstairs area while served appetizers. Our party was fortunate enough to get seats on the couch, while other people stood around for the whole time period. They give you a complimentary alcoholic beverage that's quite strong in my opinion.

What can I say about the food other than it's absolutely amazing in every single way?! From the first dish to the last, the chefs paired everything so expertly well, all the textures and tastes just complimented themselves so delicately and deliciously.
There were some dishes that were just okay, I remember it being the dishes that had fish in it. But the other dishes were just phenomenal. Even the dishes I didn't expect to be good were breathtaking.

THE BREAD AND BUTTER ARE REFILLABLE. Ask for more, you won't regret it. They make the butter in house and they're not afraid to share. The bread is to die for. I know you might be hesitant because of low-carb diet or you don't want to fill up because you want to save room for the other dishes, but just do it. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
